I really appreciate this eSports-friendly touch. The HORI Fighting Stick Mini 4 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 features a full 8-button layout and a proper micro switch activated joystick yet is small enough to easily store and transport (product is... $49.99.
In my tests, this proved a fine arrangement for fighting games such as Killer Instinct ($47.84 at Walmart) and Street Fighter V ($11.01 at Amazon) , which maps the light, medium, and hard punches and kicks to the first three buttons on the top and bottom rows, respectively.
They're nearly identical in terms of size and weight (4.5 by 17 by 9.5 inches, HWD) and weight (4.8 pounds), come in glossy black bodies, and have the same modification, lap grip, and palm rest issues. Windows 10 registers the fight stick and can confirm that every button works, but when I boot up a game, the fight sticks inputs aren't showing up. But they do look good, and these colored cases open up new possibilities for customizing your own stick’s look.
The top panel artwork is also a permanent fixture–meaning for full customization, you’d need to pry off the plexi cover and artwork, and replace–tougher than on some higher-end sticks out there. Mad Catz also uses this type of connector with its well-designed Killer Instinct FightStick Tournament Edition 2 . A minor change on the side panel is that the PS4/PS3 switch now includes a PC setting for this purpose–this would have been handy when I was playing on my old Kai at Mixed Virtual Arts in Montréal–an all-PC venue–and running into stick recognition problems. The face buttons are new, however–instead of the HORI Kuro buttons from prior models, this one comes with the new Hayabusa 30mm pushbuttons. As title says, my RAP 4 Kai suddenly stopped working on PC.

It is compatible with both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 and features the HORI original HAYABUSA joystick and KURO buttons. jetzt bewerten, Fragen und Antworten | jetzt erste Frage stellen.
The rubberized connectors on the HORI wiring can be popped off the buttons more easily than anything I’ve worked on before, and Sanwa 30mm snap-in buttons can be substituted instantly.

The base features two rubbery patches to help keep the stick from sliding around–in my experience, they aren’t that effective on your lap, but work well on wood or glass tabletops.
This new RAP4 Kai feautures a very specific selling point: color. The Kai lacks some of the cool features found in competing sticks, but it's one that will let you deftly execute your finest fighting moves. When he isn't staring at a monitor (or two) and churning out web hosting, music, utilities, and video game copy, Jeffrey makes comic books, mentors, practices bass and Jeet Kune Do, and appears on the odd podcasts or convention panel.
Body DesignThe Hori Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai is similar to the excellent, Editors' Choice-winning Hori Real Arcade Pro V Kai for Xbox One in many ways.

The “extra” buttons (R3/L3, the PS button, SHARE, and the control switches for the stick) are all on the right side panel of the case, tucked under the flaring lip of the RAP’s trademark shape. Keep an eye on your inbox! You can set it so that your offense bursts at 5, 12, and 20 attacks per second. The matte finish these buttons sport also helps a little bit, feeling slightly more “grippy” to the fingertips.

This stick is mostly the same, in terms of components and design, to the previous models of the Kai. The RAP design places a PS4 touchpad on the upper back edge of the case–that’s still there. Fighting games are highly technical titles that require the proper input devices for successfully attacking, defending, and counterattacking.
Not as easy to open as some competing arcade sticks. | Der Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai wurde speziell für PlayStation 4 entwickelt, ist aber über X-Input auch mit dem PC kompatibel.
